Enrollment Windows

Five windows. Lifelong consequences for missing them.

Understanding when to take action is the first step in avoiding lifelong penalties and coverage gaps. We guide you through the key enrollment periods. Missing these windows can lead to permanent late-enrollment penalties and delayed coverage. We provide a complimentary review of your timeline to ensure you hit every deadline with confidence.

The 7-month window around your 65th birthday. This is your best time to sign up for Parts A, B, and D without penalties.

October 15 – December 7. The “Main Event.” Anyone can switch plans or change drug coverage for the coming year.

Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment, January 1 – March 31. A “do-over” window for those already in an Advantage plan who wish to switch plans or return to Original Medicare.

January 1 – March 31. A second chance for those who missed their initial sign-up, though late penalties often apply.

Life happens. You may be able to change your plan outside of the standard windows if you:

  • Retire or lose employer coverage (you have an 8-month window).
  • Move to a new zip code or service area.
  • Qualify for “Extra Help” with prescription costs.
  • Experience a plan error or a change in your plan's 5-star rating.
